Day one highlights included talks by Steve Jones, David Aaronovitch, Ophelia Benson, Sarah Angliss, Massimo Polidoro and Richard Saunders. The evenings entertainment featured the first ever Skeptic Magazine awards, as well as stand up sets from Alun Cochrane, Robin Ince and Paul Zenon. Sarah Angliss’s talk was indeed very interesting. The recording equipment she had was far older than the 1930s though. It was an Edison Phonograph from the 19th century. She even had a recording of Florence Nightingale!
